Creating the next generation of women changemakers

The YMCA of Metro Denver is offering FREE participation in the Girls With Impact Academy – the only live, online Business & Leadership program for girls 14-24.

Featured in the New York Times, this 5-week “mini-MBA” – developed in partnership with Harvard leaders – provides a launching pad for girls to pursue their dream business, app or non-profit.

Through business coaching, skill building and networking with other girls across the country that share their aspirations, participants are empowered and prepared to turn their passion into impact.

Summer 2022 Programs

With two classes scheduled to begin the weeks of July 11 and August 9, the Academy offers multiple options to make the program accessible to any girl.

Live 5-Week Academy

The live version of the program is a virtual classroom where girls will gather online twice each week with the choice of meeting:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays: 6 -7 PM
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 5 - 6 PM
  • Wednesdays & Saturdays: 10 – 11 AM

Self-Paced 5-Week Academy

The self-paced version of the program provides a flexible option for girls to participate on their own schedule each week and access coaches live during office hours.

A transformative experience

“Before this program, everything was just an idea. Now, I know the steps to bring my ideas to life."

Melissa, CEO, STEM for All, Graduate of Girls With Impact

  • 93% in college and workforce readiness
  • 91% improvement in public speaking skills
  • 85% increase in leadership confidence

“Before Girls With Impact, I sat in the back of the room. This helped me overcome my shyness."

Kayli, CEO, Girl Well, Graduate of Girls With Impact

This partnership provides for girls in our community to achieve their goals, connect with others and gain a unique sense of belonging.

Supported in growth and learning

Spending 10 hours with an MBA coach and learning how to develop a business plan and pitch, girls in the Academy earn a powerful tool for college or job applications as they develop strengths in:

  • Public Speaking
  • Collaboration & Teamwork
  • Financial Literacy
  • Tech Skills

At its conclusion of the program, girls will walk away with new knowledge, confidence and friends as they learn how to become the leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators and changemakers of tomorrow.

Building a community

The Y’s partnership with Girls With Impact aligns our mission by creating another transformative place where the next generation of changemakers can come together and build lasting, life-changing connections as they inspire and learn from each other.

Like our other youth programs at the Y, this initiative is another step in our ongoing commitment to provide every Y member with transformative opportunities to explore your purpose and potential throughout their life journey.
