At the YMCA of Metro Denver, we believe racial equity exists when race no longer limits one’s socioeconomic outcomes and inclusion exists when all people have fair and equal access to opportunity and resources to thrive.

Our commitment: we will do our part to overcome racism by addressing the systemic social, cultural and historical contributors to inequity. That means we will be transparent and accountable in all we do and contribute to advancing a more equitable and inclusive society.

As an organization, the YMCA must own our history and acknowledge there is still work to be done. Building on the efforts of our Diversity Inclusion Global Innovation Committee over the last years and with the help of a volunteer and staff-led committee, we have outlined our racial equity commitment and identified our path to be an agent of change in our community.

Our focus will be on our organization, the communities we serve and the society we live in and these are the steps we are taking to fulfill our commitment.
